About Us - What is EMUN
EMUN is a fast-paced, realistic Model United Nations conference for high school students that aims to simulate the inner workings of the cabinets and committees that make up the United Nations. Since the creation of EMUN in 2019, we’ve hosted hundreds of delegates from around the world, providing them with meaningful experiences that change world views. This will be EMUN’s seventh edition.
EMUN’s historical simulation this year will focus on the conflict in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s, offering delegates the oppourtunity to participate in either cabinets set in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Crotia, and Serbia or committees for the European Council and the Security Council. The model’s contemporary focus will be Asia, specifically conflicts within ASEAN and concerning Taiwan. In total, delegates can choose from 10 different committees and cabinets!
The topics covered in EMUN will be interconnected, helping delegates understand the inner workings and complicated relationships in the United Nations. We strive to create a unique learning experience that nurtures delegates’ voices, helps them develop critical thinking skills, and helps the world find new ways to evolve.
Our staff members are 9th– to 12th-grade students who will work alongside you towards a common goal: find solutions to the problems we face today.
